The history of the Pavlovo Posad Shawl Manufactory is more than two centuries long. Two business partners Vasily Gryaznov and Pavel Labzin started manufacturing of shawls in the small town of Pavlovsky Posad, located in 40 km from Moscow.
The earliest shawls, which you can see today, date back to 1860. In 1881, the manufactory received the status of a Purveyour to the Russian Imperial Court.
Already in 1860, according to archives, the manufactory had its own three draughtsmen (designers). Thus, the design traditions of the Pavlovo Posad Shawl Manufactory are more than 150 years old. Wars, revolutions and changes of economic formations have not spoiled the creative attitude of Pavlovo Posad artists. They, like many years ago, are very much able to find keys to the hearts of women of fashion all over the world.
